I recently finished an advertising illustration for a natural gas company from Quebec. It was a neat project. Click on the image for a closer look at the drawing and some more details about the project!
As well, I'll be out the next two weekends selling MUMBLE TEASE shirts, my hand-made cards, and some small pieces of fabric based art.
I'll be at the PARKSALE at the University of Calgary this Saturday from 10-5. Check out their facebook page for more info.
I'll also be at the Haultain and 1st Street Festival (Featuring Market Collective) on Sunday September 12th, from 11-5:30. I'm actually not sure of the exact location, but it's on 1st Street SW around 12th or 13th Avenue.

My dear friend Miss Chika Ando and I just finished a collaborative piece that will be in the show, Ampersand 2, at the Untitled Art Society Main Gallery (4th Floor, 319 - 10 Ave SW, Back Alley Entrance, Calgary).
We created an alphabet of adjectives that can be used to describe people. For each letter we chose a word that Chika was unfamiliar with and then made up a sentence and drew a picture illustrating it. The one below is one of our favourites!
The show is on for three days. Today and Friday from 12-4, and on Saturday there's a reception party with the artists in attendance from 7-11pm. Come on out and see our lovely alphabet! And all the other neat collaborations!

I participated in the MARKET COLLECTIVE this past weekend (http://marketcollective.ca/), and had an awesome time!
I was selling my MUMBLE TEASE Shirts, which were very well-received, as well as some cards and some small pieces of art I made recently, to sell at the show. They are 8x8 inch pieces of wood that I've covered with fabric. Each one features a different quote and has silk-screened and sewn elements on it. Here's the two that I think might be my favourites! Check out the whole series!

I recently finished a job for a friend who has started up her own urban beekeeping company. It's pretty neat stuff and pretty inspirational to see her getting out there and making a go of something she's passionate about. The company is called Apiaries and Bees for Communities, or A.B.C. for short. Her website is www.backyardbees.ca if you're curious!
And, the pictures of the lovely shirts and bags that I designed and printed! I am pretty excited about how they turned out. I use stencils that I cut out by hand to print my shirts, and this was definitely the most intricate design I've attempted!

I've started a new project for myself which I am calling MY HEAD IS FILLED WITH SONG. Every two weeks I'm going to complete an album-sized peice of art inspired by a song that I really really like or is important to me in some way. I'll be posting them all on my blog and perhaps I will even find a home for the really good ones here on my website!
This is the first one based off of the Fleet Foxes' "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song."

I have taken an interest in silk-screening over the past year and am now selling the shirts under the label "Mumble Tease." The shirts are currently being sold at Fresh Life Boutique in Calgary found at 1314 1st Street SW. EXCITING STUFF! Here's a couple of my favourites.
